Clarification
My last blog I realized was far from a perfect analogy. When I say that "it is all the same", it comes from a holistic standpoint. I think of it in terms of symptoms or something systemic.
Symptoms, from a holistic viewpoint, are your body's way of telling you that something is off, and that there is disharmony. I see my Kung Fu the same way. Our instructors identify symptoms in our training and prescribe what they think is needed for you to improve. Usually symptoms are systemic, in that they show up in more than one place.
For me right now, 18 temple motions is what I've been prescribed, the symptom was my harmonies weren't synchronized. Systemically I know this is throughout all my Kung Fu in one form or another. So I'm utilizing 18 temple motions to help me with the rest of my Kung Fu.
