Inspired
It was another successful Tiger Challenge, and great to see so many students show up and compete. I had the pleasure of being there the whole day and watching all level of students.
What made this day so great for me, was the inspiration watching everyone. I saw young students put themselves out there and giving it their all. From what I saw, they all were just enjoying themselves and having fun. I got to witness my fellow classmates perform their forms, and it just made me want to do better and start practicing more. Hand and weapon forms were a joy to watch, and makes me think of what weapon I want to do next. The black belts were awesome to watch, and definitely set a benchmark for me to strive for. I got to see some pretty sweet fight choreography from both the younger and older students. Team forms were also very cool to see. I feel a little bad that I had to compete against some of the younger students in this event, but at the same time, they were so much fun to watch, and just overall impressive what they came up with. Both the sparring and pool noodle fights were fun to watch. I saw students who were normally timid, really come out of their shell during the pool noodle fight. I saw younger students hold their ground in the sparring events. I felt an immense amount of pride for our school and students.
Big shout out to our instructors and judges! This was my second time helping with scorekeeping and getting to see the judges behind the scenes, and just how impressed I was to see how organized they were and kept things going. Also to be able to score fairly. I think most impressive is the sparring. I find it difficult to keep track of everything going on, but they seem to do it with ease.
Overall, it was a fantastic day. It left me feeling inspired and rejuvenated in my training.
