Engaging

I've been trying to engage more with the team, mostly through commenting on their blogs.  I find this helps move the conversation forward and provides opportunities for further development and introspection.

My reasoning for this, 100% selfish.  I've been in a funk for a while now, and am looking for lifelines/ bids for connection to help get me the momentum I need to get myself out.  It hasn't all been negative by any means, there has been a lot of positives, but I also know that my mental state- which I do perpetuate at times, does create apathy.  I forget why I do the things I've signed up to do.  We really do have a great community of people, and as much as I like to be a loner and do things on my own, I also need people, a community to fall back on.  My community helps keep me grounded and also motivated.  Each of you motivates me to be a better version of myself, not just a better martial artist.

I am signed up for just about every category in the Tiger Challenge this year, except for obstacle course.  As much fun as it is, it isn't quite built for my body shape.  Darn broad shoulders barely squeeze through some of those hoops.  The events I'm most looking forward to are the team forms and the fight choreography, which  Sihing Mike Kohut has asked me to participate in again.  Last years choreography was a lot of fun and I'm excited to come up with a new routine this year.  As for my own forms, although they haven't been feeling great to me personally (skewed perception), I'm taking the opportunity to develop them more for the tournament.

Wanted to end by saying a big thank you for everyone who reads my blogs, comments, engages, gives a thumbs up, etc., you help keep me engaged.
