Tai Chi Visualization

I am happy that I am able to join in the Tai Chi classes again.  I've been before, but my work schedule kept getting in the way of me continuing on.  I am now in a position that I can consistently make it.

Great first class, and even though we only went over a few movements, I've already taken away a lot from it.  I think the best place to start is when we were given time to work on the first few moves on our own.  The first image that popped into my head, was that of me floating in water.  Seemed to be the most obvious choice for the movements, but then I decided to try different imagery.  I imagined myself on top of a mountain and calling upon that element.  I pictured myself in sand, and in the forest.  It was interesting how my body responded to these different images.  In the water I could feel the ease in my muscles as everything moved, there was a flow.  The mountain made me feel a lot more grounded in my stances and movement.  Though the sand and forest didn't feel too different, other than it just gave me a sense of ease.  After class I threw some kicks at the bag and felt way more grounded throughout. I felt very supported on my other leg.  I think I just had so much more sensitivity after class that I could really feel the earth beneath me.  Looking forward to exploring this more.
