Spirit to Intent

I feel like there are so many directions to go in when talking about spirit to intent.  What is relevant for me right now, is my spirit to my intent in life.

When talking about spirit in this context, it is the base of who I am, my soul.  I have a spiritual background, and part of that is talking about soul purpose and what that looks like in life.  When linking that with intent, it can cause friction, especially when it is not truly in alignment with who I am.  This relates really well with Kung Fu, because even though we may have a “clear” intent for something, if it is not in alignment with or supported by our spirit, we won’t get the outcome we hope for; but it may be the outcome we need.

Alignment is key to harmonizing spirit with intent; and alignment, like spirit, can change as we gain perspective.  When I talk about being in alignment, I’m talking about being in harmony with my soul purpose.  What feels right versus what doesn’t and am trying to force.  I can be a stubborn person, and sometimes I want something so bad, that I’ll fight myself to get it.  In the end, I usually don’t get the outcome I was hoping for, but I always get what I need.  What we need sometimes can look an awful lot like failure, or something negative.  That’s where perspective comes in, along with its partner, time.  We won’t always see what we need as a positive, until we’ve had the time to gain perspective on the matter.

When I am in alignment with my soul purpose, life becomes effortless.  I’m not saying that I don’t work hard, but it is the difference from being present in what you’re doing versus fighting the current.  Most of us fight the current.  We try so hard to force things that we think we want, or that we think will get us places, and even though we have all the best intentions in the world, we are fighting ourselves.  Most of us can feel this inner turmoil too, but we so often choose to ignore the nagging sensations that are telling us that this isn’t the path.  If we can listen to what the universe is trying to say to us, we can begin to make positive shifts in our lives, that may look different from our original visions.

To avoid rambling too much more, I’ll leave it at this- we need to look deeper and listen to what our inner selves have to say, before we can set our intentions straight.
