Catching up
I haven’t gotten as much training in as I would have liked. Been sick the past couple of weeks, and still have a lingering cough. My stamina is coming back, and I’ve been itching to train again. It helps that I’m working with Sidai Kohut to help him with his 5 techniques. Also Mike if you’re reading this, this is me poking you to write that blog we were talking about this morning.
Aside from my forms for this year, I have begun working on my forms for next year. My katana came in, so I’ve started playing around with it, getting familiar with the weight and balancing. It’s amazing what… let me see… 6/7 years being on the team can do. My first weapon form was a katana and I remember having such a hard time making a form, that I just stuck with my hand form. Now creating a form, although still not easy, but I have so much more to draw from. I’ve also began working on my drunken form. 2 forms that I’m creating this year; seems daunting, but when did I like things easy?
I’ve definitely been getting a lot of rest in, though forced, but I do believe that I did need to slow down. I’m often firing on all cylinders, and just go, go, go. The change of pace has been welcome.
